It’s been nearly 10 years since I did a Caravan Uk holiday! I can’t believe it’s even been that long. My mum used to take us twice a year, me and my brother absolutely loved it.
I’ve been desperate to take Lola away this year, after the wedding and our honeymoon I’ve felt awful for not going away with her, even just a little weekend trip is better then nothing.
We got a really great last minute deal as we knew the weather was looking good so we just booked it and headed down to Woolacombe Bay.
From where we live in Leicester it took nearly 5 hours to drive down – that was with about 8 toilet stops with a bored two year old though! We left nice and early so that we had a full day on the Friday.
The beach is unbelievable, you would think you was abroad with how clear and blue it is, we headed straight there still with a full car and got some lunch by the beach too. The Red Barn is a great stop for a cheeky drink over looking the beach!
They have designated beach areas for children and dogs and lifeguards throughout the day.
The Bay Brasserie again looks over the beach and has the most amazing food, too good to photograph I couldn’t contain myself long enough to take one!
Woolacombe bay holiday park itself had everything we needed, indoor/outdoor pools, arcades, evening entertainment, food, supermarket, play areas everything you could want to keep little ones entertained.
The caravan was the perfect size for us and again everything you needed was there (facilities wise) you are self catering though so bring plenty of food and things like towels and toilet roll.
We got ready and headed down to the club house Friday and Saturday night, I couldn’t get over Lola’s excitement it was just the best thing to watch. She’s so shy and to see her getting up and dancing with other children just melted my heart!
The views across the whole park were amazing, situated at the top of a hill you pretty much had views of the beach and sea no matter where you were on the park.
Overall we had a great stay for. Last minute getaway and would 100% come back! It’s perfect for families who just want to chill it and watch the kiddies enjoy themselves.
